The Christmas Truce

On Christmas 1914, British and German soldiers declared a truce. After singing back and forth Stille Nacht and Silent Night and other familiar songs, the boys in the trenches realized that they had more in common with each other than their leaders. They played soccer (football) and traded.

Thus snipers were deployed, artillery was used, and the units were moved around so that peace wouldn’t break out beyond Christmas.

Now Europe has lost their empires to war and Socialism. The USA are close behind.

What if peace had broken out in 1914?

E pluribus unum.
