The Arab Summer.

On August 6th, an explosion in Beirut, Lebanon killed over 100 and injured over 4000.[1]

The explosion destroyed 85% of the country’s grain.[2]

The Arab Spring in 2012 occurred during a time of high food prices.[3][4]

Speculation abounds as to who or what caused the explosion (negligent security for 2750 tons of ammonium nitrate?)
