1000 Tyrants 1 Mile Away
There is an old story that before the American Revolution, someone asked,
“Why should I trade 1 tyrant 1,000 miles away for 1,000 tyrants 1 mile away?”
The petty tyrants who are using martial law to lockdown the economy are being caught breaking their own dictates.
The mayor of San Francisco and the governor of California were both caught having separate dinners at the French Laundry, an expensive winery in defiance of the governor’s own executive order at the time.[1][2]
Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, was herself caught violating lockdown restrictions to get her hair done.[3]
The mayor of Beaumont Texas, Becky Ames, broke her own lockdown dictates by visiting a hair salon.[4]
The mayor of Austin Texas warned people not to travel while he was on vacation in Mexico.[5]
The mayor of Denver advocated that people not travel unnecessarily over Thanksgiving, and then flew to Mississippi for the holiday.[6]
The Governor of Mississippi violated his own order against gatherings of 10 or more in one house when he attended a fundraiser.[7]
Perhaps the French economist Frederic Bastiat was correct when he inquired,
“If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind?”[8]
Thank God for the law enforcement officers who uphold Constitutional law, like the sheriff of Riverside County, California Chad Bianco, who is refusing to enforce lockdown orders.[9]
Hopefully, Aberdeen, Mississippi gets the message.[10]
