The Nord Stream II Pipeline
The Nord Stream II Pipeline runs under the Baltic Sea from Russia to Germany, delivering natural gas to Western Europe. On September 26, 2022, it blew up. According to award winning journalist Seymour Hersh, the US government did it. If so, then it is an act of war.
On February 8, 2023, Seymour Hersh wrote, How America Took Out The Nord Stream Pipeline. He said,[1]
“Last June, the Navy divers, operating under the cover of a widely publicized mid-summer NATO exercise known as BALTOPS 22, planted the remotely triggered explosives that, three months later, destroyed three of the four Nord Stream pipelines, according to a source with direct knowledge of the operational planning.”
Mr. Hersh received the Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting in 1970 for reporting on the My Lai massacre of Vietnamese civilians by US soldier during the Vietnam War in 1968.[2]
If he is right, this is an act of war by the USA against both Russia and Western Europe. It means that, as a consequence, Western (Roman) Europe has less of a reason to make peace with Russia, the de facto leader of Eastern (Roman) Europe, in Ukraine because Russian natural gas can’t cheaply get to Western Europe even if there is peace.
US Natural gas can make up the loss. Cui bono?[3]
Well, that same day, Polish member of the European Parliament (EU), Radek Sikorski, tweeted thanks to the USA with a picture of natural gas bubbling out of the Baltic Sea. Apparently, it has since been deleted.
